In this live interactive one-hour online course developed by the Corewell West DEI Team, we discuss what Implicit or Unconscious Bias is, where it shows up in our work, it’s impact to equitable access to health care, and strategies to disrupt or manage our biases. This course is compliant with the LARA guidelines and the course content covers required topics outlined in the new rule added to the Public Health Code – General Rules R 338.7704 Implicit bias training standards.

This training is for Corewell Health employees and providers only.

1. Discuss what unconscious bias is and what it is not.
2. Recognize sources of unconscious bias in ourselves and our system.
3. Identify unconscious bias’s role in health inequities in medicine and patient care.
4. Practice strategies to disrupt unconscious bias.

 Implicit Bias: This training meets the State of Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs requirements for training on implicit bias and provides 1.0 hour of implicit bias training.
